Sir Valiant Too

Val is an Alberta Canada bred son of Lucky Blue Jack a Registered Quarter Horse sire and out of a big stout Blue Roan mare that is half Quarter Horse and Half Percheron.

He came to us through Foal Quest.  He was born on April 24th 2003 and is named after a horse I had as a kid as he is almost the reincarnation of that horse.

We got both he and Junior on Haloween day of 2003 and they have already become an integral part of my life.

Jim Junior

Junior is Marie's mule and she named him after her marvelous husband because they are such opposites in temperment and personality.  Juniors birthday has been set as May 21 2003.  He is out of a Bay Quarter Horse mare and sired by a Mammoth Jack.  Junior also came to us through Foal Quest and he is proving to be an interesting and entertaining addition to our lives.

Jonah

Jonah is one of a pair of donkeys that Marie rescued from a home that was not very healthful..  There were seven donkeys in a group which had been rescued and Marie claimed two. Jonah is not very big but it took him about seven seconds to discover that a bucket in my hand is a good thing.  He is not yet a pet but will follow me if I have a bucket.  He is kind and gentle and Marie loves him dearly already.  She worried that I had put too much bedding in the shelter and that he might not be able to get in it.

Esther

Esther is the other donkey which Marie rescued.  She doesn't care much for the dogs and we have to keep Lore and Maggy away from the donkeys.  She will walk right up and cut loose with a bray when she sees the dogs.  She is a bit bigger than Jonah and is most likely pregnant as she was one of two Jennets in with seven Jacks.  At this point we have no idea when she might be due but it just don't matter much.
