Val's First Birthday   April 24, 2004

April 24th is Val's Birthday.  All of the Equines and a couple of the bipeds gathered together to celebrate the ocassion with him.  A lovely Carrot Cake was served, garnished with carrot slices and apple wedges.  It was enjoyed by all.  His Royal Highness, Val and his Squire, Junior especialy enjoyed the fruit garnish.  Esther seemed to have a preference for the cake itself.  By days end all traces of the cake were gone. 

Val was also officially measured for his Birthday.  He is 56 inches at the withers and 58 inches at the hip at one year of age.  He may get big enough to amount to something yet.  He surely is getting pretty and filling out nicely.  He is about 2/3 shed out now and as he looses the long hair his color is darkening as the new hair is dark.  See three amigos photo for a good picture of Val.
